Naval Special Warfare

The NSW community is the most elite fighting force in the world. Comprised of SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewmen (SWCCs), and essential support personnel, they operate with precision and stealth beyond the reach and capabilities of conventional units. Their mission set includes strategic reconnaissance, direct action, and hostage rescue. With an unparalleled legacy of service that goes back to the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) of World War II, they have always been the true tip of the spear.

SEALs have executed some of the highest-risk, no-fail operations in history. A few have been publicized, but the vast majority remain unknown to the public. Through these clandestine missions, NSW continues to sacrifice for our nation, maintaining its global presence and remaining at the ready. They are on the front line right now and always.

Who We Are

Founded in 2000, the NSF is a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit that supports active duty and veteran members of the NSW community and their families. We stand at the forefront of crucial care for them through more than thirty comprehensive programs organized under five pillars—Strength, Resilience, Health, Education, and Community. We are here to keep our warriors in the fight. We are here to assist them in transitioning to the civilian sector. We are here to help their families every step of the way. And under the tragic circumstances of a service member not returning home, we are here as well.

How We Measure Up

Like the community we serve, the NSF is a high-performing organization committed to excellence. Charity Navigator has awarded us a 4-star rating since 2009 for financial health, accountability, and transparency. We rank higher than 99.9% of charities nationwide. Less than 100 charities can make this claim annually. Ninety-four cents of every dollar donated directly funds our programs or is retained for future mission use.
